Behind the Bowl: Our Visit to Naturaw HQ

Behind the Bowl: Our Visit to Naturaw HQ

Last week we packed our notepads (and a few dog treats) and headed up to visit Naturaw, our brilliant raw dog food supplier - and safe to say, we left feeling incredibly inspired.

From the minute we stepped inside, it was clear Naturaw isn’t your average pet food brand. The place hums with energy and pride: a wall of team dogs greets you as soon as you walk in, shared spaces are filled with wagging tails and muddy paws, and every single person we met lit up when they talked about what they do. One team member told us how proud he was to have his own dog featured on the packaging, and how refreshing it felt to work somewhere that values family and balance - finishing at 4:30 every day so he can be home for tea.

Naturaw’s commitment to sourcing couldn’t be stronger. Every single batch of meat is checked by hand when it arrives from UK abattoirs - and anything that doesn’t meet their exacting standards is turned away. They’ll only use free‑range meat as a minimum, and go organic whenever possible. Even the extras are carefully chosen: the broccoli comes from a farm just five miles down the road, and the seaweed is Scottish.

And if you needed any more reason to love them, the founders are vegetarian

Everything is done in‑house: from mincing and mixing to packing, labelling, quality‑checking and shipping. No outsourcing, no white‑labelling — just a small, passionate team doing things properly. Every finished tub of raw passes through a metal detector, which is why they don’t use game birds — there’s too much risk of lead shot sneaking in.

Naturaw remains the only raw food brand we’ve come across that combines compostable packaging, high welfare UK meat, and zero compromise on quality. Seeing it all in action made us even prouder to stock it — from the people behind the brand to the care that goes into every single meal.

If you’ve ever wondered where your dog’s dinner comes from, you couldn’t ask for a better story than this one.
