Rescue Dog Day: because all dogs matter.
With Rescue Dog Day on 20th May just around the corner, we wanted to shine a light on the brilliant rescue dogs who need a little extra love, support and a second chance.
This year, we’re doing what we can to help support the wonderful dogs at Aura’s Dogs, and we’d love for you to get involved too.
We’re collecting physical donations in our shop on Long St in Tetbury. If you’re having a clear-out at home, we’d be so grateful for any old blankets, towels or dressing gowns, as well as dog food, toys and accessories that can be passed on to dogs in rescue. These small donations help make rescue dogs feel more comfortable, more settled and more loved while they wait for their forever homes.
Can't make it to Tetbury? We’ve set up a JustGiving page to help raise funds, and every donation really does make a difference. Please share with friends, family or anyone else who loves dogs as much as we do.
We’ve also been lucky enough to help with free grooms for some of the rescue dogs, which is one of those little things that can make a huge difference. Looking and feeling a bit more comfortable can give a dog a lovely boost, and we’re so proud to be part of that. We’ve also had Luna Dental kindly offer free dental care as part of the campaign, which is such a generous contribution and another brilliant example of what can happen when local businesses pull together for a good cause.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more content on our social media too, including some of the rescue dogs we’ve been helping and the stories behind the campaign. We’re hoping to spread the word, raise awareness and, most importantly, help some dogs find the loving homes they deserve.
A huge thank you as well to the brands who stock with us and have generously donated to the cause: Beco, Green & Wilds and Pet Wiz. Your support means so much, and it’s lovely to see so many people and businesses coming together to help.
If you’re able to donate, drop off a few items in store or simply share the fundraiser, we’d be so grateful. Rescue Dog Day is about giving dogs a second chance — and with a bit of teamwork, we can hopefully help make that happen for more of them.
